6:30pm – Club Meeting at Harvest Moon Restaurant – Program: Ms. Maralee Gutierrez Cruz, Founder and Executive Director of Comunidad (www.comunidadva.org) who will tell us about a literacy program at the Willston Community Center and how we can get involved.

6:30pm – Special Club Meeting at the Veterans Center at the John & Jill Ker Conway Residence, 1005 N. Capitol Street, NE, Washington, DC 20002.  We will provide Thanksgiving baskets to veterans (with funds and food items we collect ahead of time).  Parking is limited, so carpooling is encouraged.  More to come on this event!

Club and District 7610 Events:

Friday, Oct. 18, 6:00pm – Stuff backpacks (“Comfort Cases”) which will be given to foster children.  These comfort cases will include pajamas, toiletries, a book, a journal, and a blanket.  All of these items are provided, we just need to put them into the backpacks.  Dinner will be provided.  It will be held at the Church of the Holy Cross, 2455 Gallows Road in Dunn Loring.

Saturday, Oct. 19, 5:30pm – Rotary eClub of 7610 Networking Event at the home of Dr. Maqsood Chaudhry, club president, and his wife Nadira at 855 Dolley Madison Blvd. in McLean. A $20 donation is all that is requested as a fundraiser for the e-Club’s projects. All are encouraged to bring business cards to exchange and a big appetite for a sumptuous Pakistani dinner and Rotary Fellowship.
